Terms

The agreement, in language you should not need a lawyer to read.

These terms apply between you and Trevor Richtenburg, who teaches the course, when you enrol. Nothing here is a surprise: every substantive term is also stated on the page where it matters.

Scope

What you are buying.

If this differs from your call

If any of this differs from what you were told on the enrolment call, what you were told on the call is what will be honoured.

Twenty live one-to-one instructional sessions of sixty minutes, delivered remotely, one per week across the twenty-two weeks from 1 January to early June, with two scheduled break weeks agreed in advance. The course is structured as three units of six sessions and a two-session consolidation unit.

In addition, two optional support sessions are made available each teaching week, of fifteen to sixty minutes each, for help with assigned practice and with developing your own work further. They are included in tuition at no additional charge. They are offered rather than guaranteed: if a slot cannot be found in a given week, that week's support does not carry forward and no part of tuition is refundable on account of it, since tuition is priced against the twenty main sessions.

Tuition includes curriculum design built to your work, the written Practicum Playbook, tool-build support in Unit 3, written assessment, and a Certificate of Completion.

The cohort beginning January 2027 is the first delivery of this course. What you are buying is the programme exactly as described on this site and in the published syllabus, taught for the first time. If a session turns out to need more time than the schedule allows, that time comes out of the support slots; nothing listed as included is quietly dropped to make the calendar work.

Tuition does not include AI tool subscriptions, hardware, or any work produced on your behalf. Instruction means teaching you to do the work. If you need a piece of research or a document produced for you, that is a separate engagement, quoted separately, and I will say so rather than absorbing it quietly.

What can change, and what cannot

The structure is fixed at enrolment: twenty sessions, four units, the required artifacts, the seven outcomes, the completion requirements and the fee. Those are the terms completion is certified against and they do not move.

The material inside a session is not fixed, and three things move it: what our conversations show you actually need, what these tools can do by the time we reach that session, and improvements I make to how an hour is taught. Where a change would affect a stated outcome, a required artifact or the completion requirements, you are told in advance — and if you would rather have the version published on the site at the time you enrolled, that is what is delivered.

What the certificate is

My record, as the instructor, that you completed defined coursework: program title, delivery period, contact hours, units completed, artifacts produced. It is not an accredited qualification, carries no academic credit, and no CEU, PDU or CPD equivalence is claimed. Presenting it as any of those would misrepresent it.

Payment

Payment.

Tuition is US$3,300 for the complete program, invoiced in US dollars.

The first three sessions are not invoiced. The first invoice is issued after the third session; the schedule from there is agreed between us, and where a funding body requires a particular one — including that no payment be made before a specified date — the invoice is issued to match.

There is no deposit, no registration fee, no cancellation fee and no surcharge for paying across the course rather than in one sum.

Invoices are due within fourteen days. If an invoice is more than thirty days overdue and we have not agreed otherwise, sessions pause until it is settled. Sessions missed during a pause are not lost; the program window extends to accommodate them where the calendar allows.

Cancellation

Stopping, and refunds.

  • Through session three: nothing has been invoiced, so tell me and we stop. You owe nothing and there is nothing to refund.
  • After session three: tuition is payable and non-refundable. By then the curriculum has been rebuilt around your work and a cohort place has been held that someone else could have taken.
  • If your circumstances change — a posting, an illness, a new job — talk to me. In practice this means pausing rather than refunding, and I would rather do that than hold you to a schedule that has stopped working.
  • If your funder withdraws partway through, further invoicing stops, delivered sessions stand, and we agree a pause or a reduced remainder. You will not be pursued for the balance of a course you are no longer funded for.
  • If I cannot deliver — illness, or anything else on my side — sessions are rescheduled. If I cannot complete the program at all, you are refunded pro rata for every session not delivered, without you having to ask.

Three sessions is enough to know whether this is working. That is the point of putting the billing line there rather than before the first one.

Completion

Attendance and completion.

Completion requires attendance at seventeen of the twenty main sessions, delivery of all four unit artifacts, and the capstone portfolio review in session nineteen. Missed sessions may be rescheduled within the program window subject to both calendars. Support sessions are optional and count neither toward nor against completion.

More than three unrecoverable absences means the program is recorded as incomplete and no certificate is issued. Tuition is not refunded in that case, because the sessions were made available. I will tell you if you are heading that way in April rather than in June.

Sessions start and end on time. If you are more than fifteen minutes late without notice the session still ends at its scheduled time. If I am late, the time is made up.

Ownership

Who owns what.

Everything you make is yours. The notebooks, the prompt library, the skills you write, the documented workflows, the two tools built in Unit 3 and the intent files behind them, and the completed Playbook: you own them outright, with no licence back to me, no attribution requirement and no restriction on commercial use. Use them for paying client work, give them to colleagues, sell what you build.

Your material stays yours. Source material you bring is used only to teach you, is never reused as a teaching example for anyone else, and is deleted on request. Full detail, including the mutual NDA available at no cost, is on the privacy and confidentiality page.

The curriculum stays mine. The course structure, module guides and teaching materials are licensed to you for your own use and reference, indefinitely. Reselling or re-teaching the course as a commercial offering of your own is the one thing that needs my written agreement first.

Limits

What I do not promise.

I teach methods and I will teach them well. I cannot promise a business outcome, and any provider who does is selling something other than instruction.

  • No outcome guarantee. No promise about revenue, hours saved, work won, or any employment result.
  • No responsibility for how you use it. Professional judgment about what may be submitted to a third-party AI tool, and about work you put your name to, remains yours. Session 11 is where we do that thinking together; the decision is still yours.
  • The tools are not mine. Claude and NotebookLM belong to Anthropic and Google. They change, and features taught in January may work differently by June. Where that happens we adapt in session, but I do not control it and cannot warrant it.
  • Liability is limited to the tuition you have paid. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
